Looks like our girl will be spreading that holiday spirit to everyone this year! Emily has been tapped to star in the Hallmark Channel holiday movie ‘Christmas Wonderland’. The movie premieres on December 9th as one of Hallmark’s 36 brand new holiday movies! You can check out the synopsis of the move below:
“Heidi (Emily Osment), who initially left her small town of Pleasant Valley with the dream of one day becoming a successful painter, has put her own art on hold to excel as an art gallery curator. Now, a week before the gallery’s big Christmas party, she must return home to watch her niece and nephew. She comes face to face with her high school love, Chris, now a teacher, who is in over his head after he must find a new last-minute location for the Christmas dance. Heidi offers to help him and together they discover a beautiful place for the dance, perfectly capturing the Christmas spirit, called Wonderland Farms. The more time Heidi spends in Pleasant Valley decorating for the Christmas SnowBall, the more she finds herself inspired to start painting again. With Christmas fast approaching, Heidi soon becomes torn between the life she built in the city and the life she is surprisingly charmed by back in Pleasant Valley, embracing her true passion.”
Netflix will soon reveal The Kominsky Method. The single-camera comedy series from sitcom titan Chuck Lorre (The Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men) and starring Academy Award winners Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin will be released on Friday, Nov. 16. The announcement was first made on Twitter, along with the streaming service’s portion of the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Sunday. The first season, which consists of eight episodes, centers on once-famous actor Sandy Kominsky (Douglas) and his longtime friend/agent Norman Newlander (Arkin). Together, they attempt to navigate the youth and beauty-obsessed culture of Los Angeles in their later years of life.
As previously announced, Nancy Travis (Last Man Standing) and Sarah Baker (Young Sheldon) co-star. Lisa Edelstein (House), Emily Osment (Young & Hungry), Susan Sullivan (Dharma & Greg), Graham Rogers (Atypical), Ashleigh LaThrop (Sirens), Melissa Tang (Mom), Casey Brown (Chance) and Jenna Lyng Adams round out the recurring cast.

After five seasons of Young & Hungry, Emily Osment looks back fondly on her experience playing the loveable, mischievous, but always good intentioned, Gabi Diamond. The show, inspired by San Francisco food blogger Gabi Moskowitz, took audiences through the ever-changing romance between chef Gabi Diamond (Emily Osment) and her rich tech mogul boss Josh Kaminski (Jonathan Sadowski). Along for the ride were Gabi’s roommate and bestie Sofia Rodriguez (Aimee Carrero), Josh’s housekeeper Yolanda (Kym Whitley) and publicist Elliot Park (Rex Lee).
The series finale sees Josh take the gang for a getaway on his new yacht. It’s there that Gabi is given the opportunity of a lifetime by the yacht’s chef (Alex Guarnaschelli) but Josh has his own proposal in mind. Before saying goodbye (maybe just for now if we get that movie!) to the beloved Freeform comedy, Osment takes time out for an exit interview.
What was going through your mind when you got the news initially about the show ending?
Emily Osment: It was a hard one to stomach. It has been over a year since we shot the episode, and we all assumed we’d come back. It was hard to keep my mouth shut about what actually was going on in the series finale that we were doing. Then when we found out we weren’t coming back, I also had to keep that under lock. So, it was difficult to keep it private for so long. We really wanted to go back. We really wanted to end it and have a nice closing for the show. And you might still get that chance because there have been talks of a movie. There is a script floating around, so I think it would be a really great way to wrap everything up. We want to give that to the fans. Right now, the ending is very much a cliffhanger. I think we can all assume what Josh says, but I would still like to see the chapter close.
Tell me what it was to be on this show and have the role of Gabi Diamond to sink into. You essentially have grown up in front of the camera going all the way back to Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana. However, in Young & Hungry you’re a twentysomething dealing with these young adult issues.
This show is nothing like Hannah Montana. It’s a four-camera sitcom. It’s a comedy, but the issues we discuss, and the type of comedy is very different. I think I’ve been lucky to characters on Hannah Montana and on Young & Hungry that were my own age. A lot of times that is not the case. I usually play younger than I am. On this show, I get to play my own age, which helps when you show real issues that maybe I was going through in my own life. I drew a couple of parallels for sure when we were working. It was a really wonderful experience. It was a lesson in taking care of yourself because we worked very hard. There was a lot of patience I acquired during this. I loved it so much, and I loved everybody that I worked with. It was a long run, and we had a really good time. I can go back and re-watch the episodes if I miss them. It’s all streaming on Netflix now.
There seemed to be some strong camaraderie on set. The cast seemed to have a lot of fun together.
Definitely. We all got along really well. We all came from sort of a comedic place and background. So, it wasn’t hard to get us all in a room and make it all work. It was fun. It was such a great group. We’re all going to be family forever. Continue reading
Freeform has had its fill of Young & Hungry — the sitcom’s current fifth season will indeed be its last. But (and this is a pretty big “but”) the cabler announced on Thursday that it is developing a two-hour movie that will “further the adventures of Gabi, Josh and their circle of friends.” The series’ final 10 episodes (aka Season 5B) will premiere on Wednesday, June 20 at 8/7c. Rumors about the series’ end game kicked up last month when leading lady Emily Osment told fans on social media that the show’s “final 10 episodes” would air sometime in 2018. And then earlier this week, the show’s Season 6 fate was all but sealed when Osment was cast in a CBS comedy pilot.
There were no additional details about the prospective reunion movie, although Freeform confirms the series’ primary creative team — including David Holden, Caryn Lucas, Ashley Tisdale, and Eric and Kim Tannenbaum — will shepherd the project. Freeform also released the following logline for Season 5B:
“Gabi and Josh [are] finally together and in love, but now navigating their new status as a full-fledged couple. Meanwhile, the rest of Josh’s staff, Yolanda and Elliot, are grappling with the change in work dynamic with Gabi as the “woman of the house.” Sofia, Gabi’s best friend, who begins to feel like a third wheel with the new couple, sets out on her own path to find love.”
Young & Hungry stars Osment (Hannah Montana) as Gabi Diamond, a young (!) chef who’s hungry (!) for work, until she’s hired by handsome millionaire Josh Kaminski (played by S#*! My Dad Says‘ Jonathan Sadowski), with whom she eventually falls in love. Along for the ride are Josh’s publicist Elliot (Entourage‘s Rex Lee) and housekeeper Yolanda (Black Dynamite‘s Kym Whitley), as well as Gabi’s roommate Sofia (Elena of Avalor‘s Aimee Carrero).
